Classroom change

Hello, everyone.
We're moving to a new clasroom that I hope you'll like, with more natural light and beautiful views. It's 2.03, in the corridor above C36.
See you there.
Tom.

CLASS UPDATE 22 / 10 /2015

I've posted a model class update for Thursday 22.10.15, and each class I'm going to ask one of you to do the same for that day's class, using the same format, so that the people who can't make it to class still get a reasonably clear idea of what we did, and what the homework is. This will be rewarded via the evaluation of your 'participation' during the course.
See you in class.

Progress Tests dates and evaluation system.

Hello, everyone.
Although we've just started our course, I already have dates for our 2 progress tests, which represent 5% each of your total mark. The dates are fixed, and we cannot make any changes, so please note them in your diaries now to avoid complications later.
I've also included a breakdown of the evaluation system which I explained in our first class, just in case you don't remember all the details.

Progress Tests dates and evaluation system for General Courses

As last year we will have two progress tests in the English section. Each worth 5%

Progess Test 1 (after approx. one third of the course)
LX groups - X09 dic
MJ groups - J10 dic
V groups - V11 dic
S groups - S12 dic

Progress Test 2 (after approx. two thirds of the course)
LX groups - X02 marzo
MJ groups - J03 marzo
V groups -   V04 marzo
S groups -   S05 marzo

Evaluation system:

Final exam (compulsory) = 40%

Progress Test 1               =   5%
Progress Test 2               =   5%

Participation                    = 10%
Oral Project                     = 10%

Written work, tasks, homework = 30%

Additional practice.

Hello, everyone.
As I mentioned in class, we'll be posting selected activities from the workbook, together with the answers, so that you can practise and check how well you do. This is not homework, it's an optional activity to give you the opportunity to further practice practice what we study in class. If, after you've checked the answers,  there's anything you don't understand, please ask me in class. If you didn't understand it, there's a good chance you're not the only one.

Our academic calendar 2015-16

Here's the CUNEF calendar for 2015-16. Remember it's one of the first posts on our blog, and you'll be able to check it any time.

Welcome (back) to the CSIM.

Welcome (back) to the CSIM. The directors of the school have written to us all to extend their welcome, to explain the evaluation system and some of the basic norms for students and teachers. I've included their letter below.

Welcome to our B1.1 blog.

Welcome to our blog everyone, We'll be using it to keep you informed of what's happening in class, to upload homework, and to suggest useful activities or web sites to help you improve your English.

Here's an example of a game you can play with family or friends that gives you the opportunity to speak about all kinds of things. We'll be using it on our first day in class.
